Construction Innovation has collaborated with the RoyalAustralian Institute of Architects to offer an accredited online course on integrated water services for architects and related professions.

The online module was developed by Construction Innovation and CSIRO Land and Water. Claire Daiper, a Research Scientist in CSIROs Integrated Urban Water Systems, undertook an integrated water services technologies review as part of Construction Innovations Sustainable Subdivisions research.

The new module examines different technologies available for rainwater, greywater and stormwater in a series of case studies for a new residential subdivision, a retrofit office building and a new office building.

The course is based on viewing a presentation and answering self assessment questions. It is aimed at architects interested in furthering their knowledge of the different approaches now available for integrated water services and possible solutions. Successful completion of the module will earn practitioners CE points.

The module is the first of its kind developed between Construction Innovation and RAIA. It will be followed by an Introduction to Building Information Management (BIM) module, which will be launched at the RAIA conference in Melbourne on 19-22 April.
Construction Innovations Chief Operating Officer for Research and Commercialisation Peter Scuderi, said the accessibility of the modules was a great way to further dissemination of research findings to industry.
