A mix of new and experienced Construction Innovation project leaders recently participated in a one-day project leadership workshop in Brisbane.
 
The comprehensive one-day program aimed to provide effective project leadership guidancefor new project leaders involved with Construction Innovations extension program. It alsoprovided information on communication and cooperation protocols for individual project activities.
 
The workshop covered strategies for achieving the vision and translating ideas into practice. It also focussed on prioritising strategies, defining tasks, planning for implementation as well as developing communication and cooperation. The workshop was well received by old-hands and newcomers alike.
 
Participants from Construction Innovation partner groups leading new extension prorgrams were:
 
Erik Isokangas, Thiess:2007-001-EP Interoperable Standards Development
Tom Fussell, QDPW: 2007-002-EP National Guidelines and Case-Studies
Claudelle Taylor, Nexus Point: 2007-003-EP Collaboration Platform
Rick Collins, Leighton Contractors: 2007-006-EP Dispute Avoidance and Resolution
 
Participants leading Construction Innovation commercialisation projectsattending the workshopincluded:
  • John Oliver a Construction Innovation Research Committee Chair and Board member, and asenior consultant to Rider Levett Bucknall, who leads the Automated Estimator Commercialisation project;
  • Stephen Egan from CSIRO who leads the LCA Design Commercialisation project;
  • Peter Scuderi, Construction Innovations Chief Operating Officer, Research and Commercialisation and Lyn Pearson, Construction Innovations Education Officer.

The workshop was facilitated by Michael Doneman of Edgeware Creative Entrepreneurship.
