Knowledge management and the construction sector
 
This area of research provides a platform for the Australian construction industry to effectively command and utilise its knowledge assets through identification of :
  • The enablers and barriers, and supporting processes to the diffusion of ICT by significant Australian construction companies
  • The maturity of the adoption of ICT by significant Australian construction companies
  • Appropriate methodologies for identifying the knowledge assets of companies
  • A structured and systematic whole-of-organisation knowledge management conceptual construct
Outputs available include:
The Knowledge Advantage Book ― a theoretical guide of how KM could be deployed in the construction industry. The key identified elements are how leadership drives a knowledge vision that can deliver competitive advantage through facilitating a people infrastructure to generate a learning organisation that is supported by ICT infrastructure.
