Fifteen John Holland staff participated in a two-day relationship management course, held in Brisbane 1-2 March.
The course was run by Construction Innovation and the content had been specifically structured to meet the needs of John Holland staff. Staff rated the course as fantastic and well presented.
Facilitator Graham Scott, who has extensive experience in the building and construction industry, said relationship management should be regarded as high a priority as safety.
He said relationship management required leadership, commitment and continued involvement from the top down.
John Holland currently has significant business in alliance contracts and has established a Relationship Contracting Group. Robert De Wet from the Relationship Contracting Group travelled from Melbourne to attend the course.
The course covered alliances, management, laws of human behaviour and included case reviews. John Holland staff were active in shaping the content to specifically meet the companys needs.
The course follows a course run for Main Roads staff in Queensland. Another course is planned for Queensland Department of Public Works staff 18-19 April.
